Winchester Canyon Gun Club operates environmentally responsible shooting ranges for its members and the general public, keeping firearm safety paramount. WCGC is a safe, inclusive and friendly place for responsible gun owners, friends and families to learn, practice and challenge your marksmanship skills. WCGC is a non-profit organization located near Santa Barbara, California. Winchester Canyon Gun Club is committed to working with local Law Enforcement, Fire Departments, First Responders as well as the US Forest Service. We have a special relationship with each of these departments working together to educate the public and our members on the importance of Firearm Safety. In fact, WCGC donates many days each year for the free usage of our ranges to local Law Enforcement, Fire Departments, First Responders as well as the US Forest Service for firearm practice, safety and training. For those Active Law Enforcement and Military, WCGC offers discounted memberships and fees while personally shooting at our range. Winchester Canyon Gun Club is dedicated to the public and it's members to learn, practice and challenge your marksmanship skills within all national, state and local firearm safety standards. Winchester Canyon Gun Club has onsite, during public hours (Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays), certified Range Safety Officers at each of its ranges for everyones safety. Before becoming a member, each member applicant is put thru an online safety briefing as well as an in-person safety briefing by one of our trained and certified Range Safety Officers. All member applicants must prove to our Range Safety Officer during the in-person briefing their knowledge and competency with handling a firearm safely before their membership its approved. Winchester Canyon Gun Club holds many competitions and events for both our members and the public.Coaching and special consideration are afforded new shooters to the game, by veteran competitors and the Range Officer. RANGES OPEN TO THE PUBLIC Active Members may shoot at the Club's Ranges and Fields any time between sunrise and sunset seven days a week, 361 days a year. WCGC shooting ranges will be closed during cultural holidays such as winter and summer solstices and spring and autumn equinoxes. If you look at this weather station and the humidity level is about 90% or higher, the club is fogged in. We are working on getting a weather camera set up so you will be able to take a look at the current range conditions. We are making progress on getting our weather station back online, and are hopeful it will be back operational soon.
